About the artist…

Rachel’s artistic journey began in childhood. A serious creative spark was ignited attending art classes during primary school, with high school further shaping her artistic identity through both traditional and graphic design practice.

In 2012, at the age of 15, Rachel marked her debut in the art world at a SALA exhibition at cellar door Yalumba Menzies, selling her first painting—an acrylic of the name ‘Pants Off Friday’. Rachel has since been a contributor to six exhibitions across South Australia.

Throughout her artistic evolution, Rachel has explored an array of mediums, including acrylic, pencil, textile, collage, and digital painting. However, it was the vibrant colours and smooth workflow of oil painting that eventually won her over.

In 2023, Rachel’s painting ‘Tricia Reschke Rd’ clinched first prize at the South East Art Society Open Art Awards. Notably, both entries, ‘Tricia Reschke Rd’ and ‘Collateral’, were swiftly sold within 24 hours of being on display at the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre in Mount Gambier.

Rachel’s works span from vibrant landscapes to conceptually rich surrealist pieces that delve into life, growth, and the nuances of aging.
